Collection and Use of Information
Internet Information - When you visit www.asaging.org, ASA will collect general Internet data, including which of our web pages you visited, and we may store a "cookie" on your computer to remember the data for the next time you visit the site. Cookies contain a small amount of information that allows our web servers to recognize you whenever you visit. Cookies are retained indefinitely so that the next time you come back we can recognize you and tailor the site for you, but no personal information is stored in cookies. We use cookies to faciliate transactions that you may choose to complete on our web site such as membership transactions, continuing education applications, requests for information, or participation in other programs and services offered via our web site. ASA does not collect and retain personally identifying information from our web site users unless a site visitor chooses to complete a form on the site for which such information is required. Our web site is hosted by a third party company, Host My Site, and Host My Site may collect information such as the IP address of your computer and information about the pages you visit. However, ASA does not obtain this information from Host My Site for individual site visitors.Information You Provide When you provide information, through emailing us or otherwise sending us information, we may use it for various reasons, such as to register you for a conference or extend your membership. If you do not wish to provide this information over the Web, please contact ASA at (415) 974-9600 to register or purchase a product by phone.
When You Register to Attend an ASA Conference A list of conference registrants, including their mailing addresses, is provided for one-time use to registered exhibitors for that one conference. Individuals wishing their names not to be provided for this purpose should contact customerservice@asaging.org with their request.
Rental of ASA Membership/Conference Registration Mailing Lists ASA makes lists of its membership and conference attendees available for rental for one-time use to other associations or companies that have products or services that we deem to be of interest to our members. If you are an ASA member or conferencee attendee and do wish to have your name included in this rented lists, please contact customerservice@asaging.org with your request.
Continuing Education Records Course information, exams, and license numbers submitted for continuing education credit (CEC) are maintained for a period of five years. Privacy and security of these records are maintained by ASA. Records are submitted in aggregate to CEC providers for after-course agreements. Upon request from providers, names, addresses, license numbers and course information on learners who have requested continuing education credits are provided to CEC accreditation organizations.
Recruitment When you submit an application for employment with ASA, we use your personal information for recruitment purposes only.
Access to Your Information - Via the members pages, ASA members may view, update, or edit your information. You must be logged into the site as a member to access this information.
Credit Card Payments
ASA uses industry-standard encryption to protect consumer data and privacy when accepting credit or debit card payments over the web. ASA uses PayJunction (3 West Carrillo Ste 204, Santa Barbara, CA 93101; www.payjunction.com) for the direct processing of electronic card payments for products, fees, subscriptions, and donations that we accept via our web site. Your credit card information is immediately transmitted to PayJunction via an encrypted connection to a PayJunction server; ASA does not retain any information concerning your credit card issuer, card number, expiration date or card holder name, and PayJunction does not provide ASA with access to this information. We only have access to the last four digits of your card number and the purchase amount once a transaction has been approved. PayJunction is proud to be Visa CISP/PCI compliant. Through the CISP/PCI program PayJunction is certified under Visa to be up to date with the utmost security regulations assigned by 3rd party assessors.Dispute Resolution or Policy Infringement
